Whenever a community of people get together to support something they love, it is always a wonderful movement and inspiring to watch. Seattle-based author Debra Prinzing, a longtime supporter of domestic growers, started the online resource Slow Flowers to help customers find U.S. cut-flower farms.
Last year, Prinzing dreamed up American Flowers Week to throw the social media spotlight on locally grown flowers, foliage and other botanicals. The #AmericanFlowersWeek effort generated more than 400,000 impressions on Twitter and Instagram, says Prinzing.
Here at Details, we love that there is an opportunity to share all the great local, seasonal and sustainable flowers produced here in the good ole U.S.A. To all of our friends and floral designers– we encourage you to celebrate and promote American Flowers Week by purchasing flowers from your local grown distributors.
Details Flowers is proud to promote and support American Flowers Week. We invite our floral designers, customers, general public, policymakers and media to join our celebration. We salute and appreciate our local flower farmers who source and provide us with great products that make our events explode like firecrackers and roman rockets.
Details Flowers is celebrating this national event by promoting a fun contest within our own floral community. Floral entries that showcase a U.S.A. theme should be created between Monday, June 27th 5:30 a.m. through Thursday, June 30 th 5:00 p.m. Entries should be submitted to Details Flowers via email and July 1st, Friday 5:00 p.m. Your stellar designs will be showcased and shared through our social channels on July 2nd through July 5th . Industry giants are joining in on the floral celebration and include Certified American Grown Flowers, Mayesh Wholesale, Syndicate Sales and FarmGirl Flowers. “Certified American Grown Flowers could not be more excited to be supporting a week focused on America’s flower farmers and their flowers,” said Kasey Cronquist, administrator of Certified American Grown and CEO/Ambassador of the California Cut Flower Commission. “Origin matters, and we believe a week like this helps drive public awareness about hard-working American flower farmers they can support all year long. Buying American Grown Flowers makes a difference” (Floral Industry News,Westbrook, May, 09, 2016).
We invite you to share your fabulous arrangements for the upcoming holiday and join the Details Flowers family. Contact Corrine at email@example.com for more information and good luck to our Winner!!
